Growing nature with Karenina Fabrizzi's art
One cannot escape nature in Karenina Fabrizzi's work; it's simply everywhere. Whether injected in the silhouette pieces she creates or outside of them, plants and flowers grow throughout. Profiles of the female figure dominate her work. As she states: "In my work I want to bring nature closer to the observer, to connect people with their roots and memories. Organic elements are essential as they show us, like in a fairy tale, the link between the subconscious mind and the actual world." (Saatchiart.com). Here, the magical sentiment on display seems fairy-like indeed.

Artist to Watch: Les Panchyshyn
Ukrainian artist Les Panchyshyn was recently profiled by chief curator, Rebecca Wilson, at Saatchi Art. Looking at his work it is easy to see why. His bold use of colour and striking imagery appeal to the viewer almost instantly. Currently residing in Kiev, the artist has a strong future ahead of him. Panchyshyn who works between abstract and figurative subject matter creates a mystery behind the variety of his work. Not one to reveal too much he maintains a distance between his paintings and the viewer. Click to see more...

Art in Black and White
It's not only artists who are attracted to black and white in art, many find the simplicity of such artwork appealing. Below, you'll find many instances of sharp contrasts, creative line work and strong juxtapositions. Each work has something unique for the audience to consider. Separating these works from the regular mix of colourful art posts emphasizes their character and introduces a new layer to study.
