Yin Zhaoyang, White Mountain Spring

Yin Zhaoyang is a Beijing-based artist whose art is often seen at auction. This painting lush with greenery and red earth speaks in abstracted ways. Bold yet closely aligned with its natural habitat the work is a  beautiful rendition of Chinese landscape.

Art Fair Picks

Artworks at art fairs are culturally rich and diverse and from that standpoint they are worth looking at juxtaposed against one another. While you can scroll through countless of works from a gallery's selections it is worth separating them and curating against one another. You'll see differences that you might not otherwise see. Below is a grouping of art which I have put together, each one, I believe, shows off something unique when placed together. What you see is more dissimilar rather than the same, but each work stands strong alone as well as a group.

Exploring the Art of Asia at Art Central

If you have ever wondered about the contemporary art scene in Asia then the Art Central fair being held in Hong Kong this month is a good introduction. For many, art from this region continues to remain a mystery, with only a few artists having gone on to become well-known on the international stage. Although it would seem that Asia has a lot of catching up to do, it is certainly making a splash. Arguably, perhaps it is the West that has yet to fully grasp the strength of this emerging region. Whatever the answer, and whatever your expectations, you are likely to find yourself pleasantly surprised.
