Yin Zhaoyang, White Mountain Spring

Yin Zhaoyang is a Beijing-based artist whose art is often seen at auction. This painting lush with greenery and red earth speaks in abstracted ways. Bold yet closely aligned with its natural habitat the work is a  beautiful rendition of Chinese landscape.

Arco Madrid Art Fair 2021

The Arco Madrid Art Fair 2021 had a fine showing this year. From Erin O'Keefe's spiral Spread artwork to Anastasia Samoylova's photography there was a great deal to see. Erin O'Keefe sculpture showed a whimsical unity that showcased vibrant colours together with subdued ones. Meanwhile Ms. Samoylova showed exactly why her work deserves recognition. It is simply eye catching and raises discourse. Other works that captured my attention were Iris Schomaker's Yellow Pullover and Abraham Lacalle's Ladrido. Their use of colour brought a dramatic scheme to the former and a dynamic finish to the latter. Overall it was a good show, and you can see other works here below.

The Playful Art of Maryam Keyhani

Maryam Keyhani's hats may have been featured in Vogue and other media however her art has yet to find the recognition it deserves. Her hats are unlike any others and likewise her art has still to gain a proper audience. A true original, her work defies definition. Her dresses are playfully set in the foreground with the body resting below. Vibrant colours and unique shapes take over, while her costume-like subject matter elicits your attention. After featuring her necklaces, also immaculately designed, it is refreshing to see another side of this wonderful artist. One can only wonder what's next.
