Artsy's Foundations Art Fair 2023 Continued

Artsy's Foundations art fair spotlighted numerous artists who are up and coming. Aplerh Boku Borlabi hails from Ghana and uses coconut sheath to paint the colour of his subject's skin. It's a unique technique that shows the depth of his skills as an artist. Olga Sabko is a mutltidisciplinary artist and here we have a sculpture made by her. It is ethereal in its beauty and timeless in its style. Kader Diaby initally worked as a fashion designer and then segued his way into photography. His subjects are the people from the Ivory Coast. They're beautiful indeed. Meanwhile Janet Sobe paints in the style of Marc Chagall, fluid in motion. Her painting comes together for the perfect composition.

The Seattle Art Fair 2023 in its 7th edition just ended. It brought together a whole host of galleries from all over the world. Artists from as far as Israel and Poland were on display. Here I have chosen a few of my favourites. Please have a look and see for yourself.

Foundations Art Fair 2023 Part I

The Foundations Art Fair 2023 is a new art fair, this year featuring over 2,000 works of art. The talent is immense and as diverse as ever. It is an art fair that is wholly run by Artsy. This year showcased emerging talent notably from Africa but also from as far as Poland and Japan. Consider Tuminiunu Gbebire's Better Place which captures the spirit of migrants leaving their home. It is a poignant work that really drives home the political zeitgeist that has become second nature in our news. Meanwhile Ukrainian artist Olga Sabko's Black and Blue is a wonderful abstract work comprising two colours that blend really well together. We can look at it peacefully and marvel at the composition. Beninese artist Didier Viode's Dans le train, is a serene look at a man in his travels. I particularly like Mr. Viode's style which shimmers through every one of his works. He uses mellow colours to achieve a brilliant balance. South African artist Justice Mulkheli's Dance is a treasure to find and look at. It's always exciting to see an artist maturing and this artwork is no exception. I know we'll see Mr. Mulkheli doing well in the future. Ghanaian artist Winfred Nana Amoah's Xom displays a bold array of colours. He captures the essence of the gentleman we are looking at and we can't help but feel joy at his happiness.
